New PARENT Resources
http://foundrybc.ca/ is now available to support the mental health of BC youth. The new Foundrybc.ca website offers wellness tips and strategies, self-checks, apps and online tools, connections to services, and strategies for supporting others. MediaSmarts has released updated videos for parents about social networking privacy and excessive use. The site has also provided updated tips for managing kids' screen time based on the Canadian Paediatric Society's guidelines. Reality Check is a two-year public awareness and education initiative that will give Canadians of all ages the tools they need to verify different kinds of online information and to help them understand why it’s important to double-check before they share information online. All eight CISPG Schools initiated a local School Committee and together completed the 9 page School Physical Accessibility Audit Checklist in June 2023. Priorities for the physical plant were identified to share with staff in term 1 of the 2023-24 school year. There will be plans to reconvene a school-based Accessibility Committee as per the Ministry's guidelines and have an initial meeting by Oct. 30, 2023.
