Parent Group 2024-2025
The St. Anthony’s Parent Group welcomes you to our wonderful community! We are looking forward to a great year filled with fantastic events, community building activities and, most importantly supporting our kids and teachers so they can continue to attain excellence in education!
The BEST way to support your school community is to join the St. Anthony’s Parent Group! This is your chance to be a member of a great organization that funds many of the programs and extras you see around the school. When you join the St. Anthony’s Parent Group, you are not obligated to attend all meetings or volunteer for every event; you can participate as much or as little as you have time for.
The next BEST way to support your school community is to volunteer! Many hands make light work! It takes a community of people helping and giving time to make sure that all of the events! Just like in hockey, skating, gymnastics and dance… these organizations NEED volunteers (that’s why you have a volunteer bill for each season!). We do not have a volunteer bill but we DO NEED VOLUNTEERS when called upon. When people donate an hour or two of their time, we can keep the wonderful events from being cancelled. Please consider volunteering when called to.
A fun fact: It has been proven that a child whose parent(s) is involved in his/her education and school experience is a more successful student. By getting involved at home and school, children do better - grades are higher, test scores rise, self-esteem grows and schools improve.
By joining and volunteering in the St. Anthony’s Parent Group, there is no better way to get connected with the school community! Know what’s happening at St. Anthony’s School, meet other parents and the school’s teachers, share ideas, concerns and experiences.
It has been said that the number one reason people don’t join St. Anthony’s Group, is because no one asked…..we are asking! And asking you to ask your friends! Join us (it’s free) and help us make this the best year yet!
Please join us for St. Anthony’s Parent Teacher’s Group meetings, the first Tuesday of every month at 7:30 P.M. in the Staff Lounge.

Fundraising
Fundraising is an important part of the school, organized by the Parent Support Group. This is carried out entirely by parent volunteers! 3 to 4 fundraisers are sent home throughout the year for your family & friends to participate in.From this fundraising we have been able to provide additional resources in the classroom, purchase playground equipment, support library needs, purchase computer equipment, assist with fine arts, and other such things for the good of our children. Contact any members of the Executive for more information, or if you have a fundraising project you'd like to organize! Thank you for your continued support of St. Anthony's!
Hot Lunch
In the 2008/09 school year, the BC Ministries of Health and Education issued new guidelines for the school food and beverage sales as part of its Healthy Schools Initiative Program.
In accordance with the guidelines, the St. Anthony's Parent Support Group made changes to the Hot Lunch Program offered to the students. We offer healthful choices on our menu so the students can begin to learn about making better food choices.
In compliance with the ministries guidelines and following consultations with the Community Nutritionist with Northern Health for our region, each meal is planned to include 1 serving each of dairy, fruit, vegetables, whole grains & proteins.
